East Extramural Area: June 21, 2007

The saga continues in the Creswell Salt Mines: Katie continues her epic excavation (left most trench) for either a floor surface or some clarification of exactly what function the flat vertical stone serves (seen slightly below and right of the toolbox in the photo), while Angela and I toil in the pair of eastern trenches in an attempt to determine the extent of the plaza surface we began to reveal in our previous desert cubicle (dead center in the photo). Artifactual recovery has come to a grinding halt, although this is not unexpected; not much was anticipated to be found in what likely served as the public walkway.
