Structure 2: June 28, 2007

The excitement of excavating structure 2 continues.  The goal of the eastern 1×1 unit has been achieved-the eastern wall has been uncovered.  However, excavations continue unabated as the wall still needs to be traced to floor level.  In addition, the southern 1×3 unit has also begun to show signs of the burned roof we have been searching for.  Two dark patches of ash can be seen slowly revealing themselves at the far edges.


Below, Danielle is holding the remains of a piece of corrugated pottery.  The terminating swirl indicates that this is the bottom of a pot.
