East Extramural Area: July 6, 2007

We continued to dig down and define the wall fall, which fills the trenches running north- south in search of the corners of the wall. Although the limits of the wall are still largely unclear, the southern end of the southern trench is much sandier than the rest of the trench, and contains much less wall fall, which may indicate that we have reached the end of the wall.  The features in the eastern unit, including the possible posthole, cooking area and swale were defined and mapped.
